Little is known about the original clans or how they started. All we truly know is that there had to be a clan-styled culture in place before their move and a few names.

The one name we are sure of is Sun, the grandfather of Sparkheart, he was a half sand-cat meaning that he was much larger than his soon-to-be clan mates. The cats present at this time were captured by a group of two-legs that loaded them onto a watermonster and took them across the water. It's unclear why this happened or what the two-leg's goal was for these cats but they wouldn't let it happen. The before mentioned Sun is believed to have lead the escape once the boat docked at its destination.

We believe in this clan-styled culture before the journey as when these cats did finally make their way to the land they formed into separate groups rather than a singular large group.

The effect of the journey, despite it lasting only one moon, has lasted with us through the ages. Many cats have carried oceanic themed names thanks to it and while they may not be aware of where their name originated from it has deep ties to this time. This is especially true for cats that were born while on the boat but not a single one of them remains now. Despite that, their grandchildren and great-grandchildren may still inherit such names through their family legacy.
